The Strength of Taiwan’s Distant-Water Fisheries
Fair Well Fishery Group was founded in the early 1990s, taking its first steps from Taiwan, located in the northwest Pacific Ocean. Breaking through geographical boundaries, the Group emerged as a rising presence in the Pacific fisheries sector within approximately a decade.
Distant-water fisheries have always been the core of the Group’s business development. At present, the Group operates a fleet of more than forty vessels, including large-scale American-style purse seiners, squid jigging vessels, and refrigerated carrier vessels. Together, they form a closely coordinated and highly efficient fleet. Following its expansion, the Group established branch offices in Papua New Guinea, Thailand, China, and South Korea. Through unity and collaboration, the fleet has continued to grow steadily.
With nearly four decades of experience in distant-water fisheries, the Group has consistently focused on advancing fishing technologies and equipment, strengthening the global cold-chain supply network, and implementing sustainable management practices in compliance with international standards. Its fleet operates across multiple fishing grounds worldwide, while its supplier network serves consumer markets throughout Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The Group has also established long-term fisheries partnerships with PNA member countries.
