Following four months of rigorous maintenance, inspection, and preparation, the purse seiner “Formosa Manzai 707″—operated by the Jumbo Fishery Group under Seaworth Holding Co., Ltd.—has successfully completed all fleet enhancement projects. Crewed by a multinational team from Taiwan, South Korea, China, the Philippines, and Vietnam, the vessel is about to officially set sail for the South Pacific to commence a brand-new deep-sea fishing voyage.
Comprehensive Vessel Upgrades to Establish Safety and Sustainability Defenses
To ensure the vessel operates at peak performance during high-intensity fishing operations, several core equipment upgrades were conducted at the shipyard during this maintenance period. Regarding power and propulsion systems, the engineering team completely resolved issues within the vessel’s hydraulic system, ensuring ample power and smoother operation during fishing activities. Concurrently, synchronized maintenance was completed on both the main and auxiliary engines, significantly improving propulsion efficiency, cruising stability, and power generation performance. Furthermore, the hull structure was reinforced during this project, which not only enhances overall durability and wave resistance but also provides a robust safety guarantee for long-term ocean navigation.

Stability and safety are the utmost priorities in deep-sea navigation. Fire safety experts were specially invited to conduct on-site educational training and drills, comprehensively strengthening the crew’s emergency response capabilities and teamwork. Moreover, the “Formosa Manzai 707” successfully passed its annual inspection by the Nauru Maritime Administration, fully aligning with international maritime safety and operational regulations, and has obtained all relevant statutory certificates.
On the eve of departure, the Group followed its long-standing tradition by holding a vessel purification ritual to express reverence and gratitude toward the ocean and the vessel. This was followed by a blessing and birthday celebration where, led by a pastor, the multinational crew sang hymns of gratitude together, offering prayers for a safe voyage and a bountiful harvest.
