Sailing with Sustainability and Hope|Yellowfin Manzai Opens a New Voyage
As the autumn breeze swept across the harbor, the lingering heat of summer gave way to a refreshing calm. Moored at the shipyard, the Yellowfin Manzai stood ready for its departure ceremony, marking its official entry into distant-water operations—a symbol of Hwawai Fisheries’ continued commitment to professionalism, sustainability, and the protection of human rights.

Before departure, the Fishermen’s Association arranged a special media tour onboard. Guided by the company’s General Manager, Vessel Design Director, and senior technicians, reporters were introduced to the navigation systems and onboard facilities. The comprehensive planning and advanced design of the modern purse seiner fleet drew praise from the visiting journalists, who marveled at the precision and sophistication of Taiwan’s shipbuilding industry.

During the tour, the General Manager emphasized that the Yellowfin Manzai was constructed in full compliance with the ILO C188 Work in Fishing Convention and international labor standards. Living quarters, medical supplies, and daily facilities were all designed to meet global benchmarks. “Only with a comfortable and secure environment,” he stressed, “can our crews remain at their best while working at sea.”

As the moment of departure approached, the atmosphere grew lively. The Korean fishing master and crew members posed for photos holding cheering boards, highlighting the team’s international spirit and unity. Recruitment partners were also present, encouraging new crew members to embrace every opportunity for growth and learning. The seafarers expressed gratitude for the company’s care and emphasis on crew welfare, which strengthened their sense of confidence and belonging—an embodiment of solidarity across the industry and its frontline workforce.
Chairman Huang also addressed the departing crew, offering encouragement and reaffirming to the media that Hwawai Fisheries would continue to strengthen logistical support and personnel management, ensuring the fleet’s solid backing at sea.

With the ropes released and guided by a pilot boat, the Yellowfin Manzai 707 slowly departed the harbor, bound for the Pacific fishing grounds. Firecrackers and cheers echoed along the pier, carried by the sea breeze, marking the start of a new voyage. Hwawai Fisheries looks forward to every crew member embracing this journey with professionalism and teamwork, setting sail toward bountiful harvests and a new chapter in distant-water fishing.
