The First Voyage of Legacy and Vision | The Launch of TUNA MANZAI
As the White Dew season approaches, the sea breeze carries a hint of salt, signaling the departure of TUNA MANZAI. This new vessel, embodying both the company’s legacy and future vision, has completed a series of intensive preparations—including engine trials, maintenance, and safety drills. Now docked at the west pier, she stands ready to embark on her maiden voyage.

Before sailing, We reverend Chen Wu-Chang from the Presbyterian Church Seamen and Fishermen’s Service Center was invited aboard to offer prayers and blessings for the entire crew. His words carried heartfelt wishes to the heavens and the sea. Several Filipino crew members, devoted in their Christian faith, bowed their heads in prayer—asking not only for a safe voyage ahead but also for peace and protection for their families back home.

On the day of departure, chairman personally came to the port, joining the captain, fish master, chief engineer, and senior crew in a traditional incense offering to pray for smooth sailing, abundant catches, and a safe return. This maiden voyage also welcomed several trainee officers on board, ready to learn from their seasoned mentors and strengthen their skills and adaptability at sea.
With these new recruits, the spirit and mission of deep-sea fishing continue to shine across the ocean. Standing side by side, the veteran and the new crew members took a group photo on the deck—a symbolic moment of passing down experience and hope, making the ship’s departure all the more meaningful and heartfelt.

TUNA MANZAI is more than a new vessel—it represents a platform for the next generation of fishing professionals. Throughout its construction, every effort was made to ensure that the ship’s facilities and spaces meet international standards. Before departure, company staff worked tirelessly to brief the crew on safety guidelines and operational reminders, while officers led emergency and evacuation drills to guarantee that both equipment and procedures were in peak condition.
Rooted in principles of sustainability, safety, and high-quality catches, this voyage embodies Hua Wei Fishery’s enduring commitment to ocean conservation and respect for labor rights.

As firecrackers echoed through the air, carrying hopes and expectations for the journey ahead, Full of Tuna slowly departed the harbor under the guidance of the pilot boat. From the deck, the crew waved toward their colleagues onshore—a moving tableau of farewell and promise.
This moment marked not only the beginning of TUNA MANZAI’s long voyage, but also another milestone in Fairewell Fishery’s path toward sustainable development. May the vessel sail safely and return with abundant catches—her holds full, her journeys prosperous, and her future bright upon the seas.
